Changeability

The innate genetic part of our communication behaviour naturally cannot be changed. In the context of the 3DC Model it is pertinent to understand how and to what extent a person is able to further develop the acquired and changeable part of his or her communication style. So the focus is on learning quickly, purposefully and sustainably how to control and cultivate one's own general communication style.

The 3DC Model therefore assumes that people are able to learn, among other,

  • weakly pronounced communication styles (such as a foreign language)
  • to apply all of their communication styles in a more intelligent / proportioned / positive way
  • to improve the adequacy of their own behaviour
  • to communicate more purposefully when dealing with other people
  • to communicate in a more three-dimensional way when dealing with the public

Leaders, collaborators, employees, trainers, teachers or parents can provide support with this development in their environments.
